The Future Leaders Orthodontic Symposium (FLOS) is set to be a pivotal gathering at the 10th IOC.

“The symposium is dedicated to fostering a dynamic network of young orthodontists globally, with a focus on promoting the exchange of ideas, research, and best practices, as well as preparing the next generation of leaders in the orthodontic field,” says Dr. Letizia Perillo. Dr. Perillo, member of the Executive Committee and president-elect of the WFO, is the chair of the symposium planning committee.

Scheduled Wednesday, October 22, 2025, FLOS will convene postgraduate residents eager to enhance their clinical capabilities and leadership skills.

The agenda will feature postgraduate case presentations, facilitating constructive feedback and dialogue. Attendees will enjoy a coffee break for informal discussions as well as a social networking event. IOC Keynote Lecture presenters will also be invited to share their expertise to facilitate meaningful interactions between established leaders and emerging professionals, fostering an environment of mutual learning and growth.

“The symposium aims to add value to the 10th IOC by promoting high standards of orthodontic education and strengthening the WFO community by helping younger attendees foster professional connections and build a supportive professional network,” says Dr. Perillo. “This initiative underscores the WFO commitment to advancing orthodontic practice and education on a global scale.”

The FLOS committee will soon send an email invitation to each student member of the WFO. Participation in the event is free, but registration is required.

Registrants who are interested in presenting cases during the symposium may also apply to do so when registering. Presenters will be selected by a committee of residents.
