As a WFO-affiliated national organization, you will:
Gain access to a global platform for collaboration and exchange of ideas.
Participate in international orthodontic events and educational programs.
Enhance your organization’s credibility and visibility in the orthodontic community.
Contribute to the advancement of orthodontic standards and practices worldwide.
Requirements for Affiliation
To affiliate with the WFO, your national organization must meet the following criteria:
Bylaws Compliance: Your organization’s bylaws must align with those of the WFO, as determined by the WFO Executive Committee.
Membership Qualifications: Your organization must have a category of full membership exclusively for qualified orthodontists, who must be recognized by local governing laws and/or your organization’s bylaws. These members must have the right to vote, and unless forbidden by applicable law, only members in this category have the right to hold office.
Open Membership: Membership should be open to all qualified orthodontists practicing or teaching within your geographic jurisdiction.
Non-Promotional Focus: Your organization should not be a study club or focused on promoting a particular orthodontic treatment modality.
Exclusive Orthodontist Control: In countries with official accrediting agencies, national organizations controlled exclusively by orthodontists are eligible for WFO affiliation, even if not officially recognized by the accrediting body.
Promotion of Standards: Your organization must promote and uphold standards consistent with the WFO’s purpose and objectives.
