Young TOS Summer Meeting 2026 – Istanbul, Türkiye

The YoungTOS Summer Meeting, held on June 28, 2026, in Istanbul, Türkiye, brought together an enthusiastic group of young orthodontists for a day of scientific exchange, professional networking, and international collaboration.

Representing the World Federation of Orthodontists (WFO), WFO President Prof. Letizia Perillo conveyed greetings on behalf of the Federation and delivered two keynote lectures, one on the early treatment of Class II malocclusions and the other on the early treatment of Class III malocclusions, sharing clinical experience with the next generation of orthodontists.

During the meeting, the WFO had the privilege of presenting the WFO Regional Award of Merit to Prof. Nejat Erverdi, recognizing his outstanding leadership, vision, and lifelong contributions to the advancement of orthodontics throughout the region.

The event also marked the announcement of Prof. Nazan Küçükkeleş as the President-Elect of the European Orthodontic Society (EOS) for 2032, a well-deserved recognition of her leadership and commitment to the profession.

The WFO extends its sincere appreciation to Prof. Gokmen Kurt, President of the Turkish Orthodontic Society, and Prof. Derya Germec, WFO Executive Committee Member, for their warm hospitality and the outstanding organization of this successful meeting. The scientific program, combined with the unique cultural setting of Istanbul, made the Young TOS Summer Meeting an inspiring and memorable event, strengthening international friendships and reaffirming the importance of supporting FLOS, the Future Leaders in Orthodontic Societies.

57th SIDO International Congress in Turin, 8 – 10 October 2026

The 57th SIDO International Congress will take place in Turin, Italy, from 8–10 October 2026, bringing together orthodontists from around the world for three days of outstanding science, clinical innovation, and international collaboration.

Under the theme “Beyond Alignment”, the congress will explore the evolving role of orthodontics within interdisciplinary patient care. An internationally renowned faculty will present the latest evidence and clinical advances in orthodontics combined with periodontology, restorative dentistry, orthognathic surgery, digital technologies, artificial intelligence, and clear aligner therapy. Interactive sessions, debates, and hands-on curses will provide participants with practical insights that can be immediately translated into everyday clinical practice.

The meeting will also offer valuable networking opportunities, allowing colleagues from different countries to exchange ideas, strengthen professional relationships, and develop new collaborations in a welcoming and stimulating environment.

A special moment of the congress will be the presentation of Dr. Wiem C. Ben Amor from Tunisian Society for Orthodontic Studies, recipient of the Roberto Justus Scholarship, an initiative that recognizes and supports promising young orthodontists within the World Federation of Orthodontists community, and an insight on FLOS, the Future Leaders of Orthodontic Societies.

APOC 2026: Where Asia Pacific’s Orthodontic Community Comes Together

The Asia Pacific Orthodontic Conference (APOC) 2026 takes place from 6-8 November 2026 at Marina Bay Sands, Singapore, organised by the Asian Pacific Orthodontic Society (APOS) and the Association of Orthodontists (Singapore) (AOS), under the theme “Creating Smiles, Connecting Peoples: Integrity, Inspiration and Innovation.”

Beyond an insightful scientific programme featuring keynote speakers Prashant Zaveri, Eric Liou, Nikhillesh Vaiid, and Sumit Yadav, APOC 2026 brings the region’s orthodontic community closer together. With delegates travelling from across Asia Pacific and beyond, this is a rare chance to build genuine, lasting professional relationships with peers who share your passion for the speciality, whether over coffee between sessions, on the exhibition floor, or during the many supporting programmes.

The Future Leaders of Orthodontic Societies (FLOS), is a student leadership committee that serves the WFO student membership, and aims to bring together orthodontic students, residents, and early-career orthodontists from around the world to create meaningful opportunities for education, collaboration, mentorship, and networking.

FLOS Event 2026: 5 November 2026 | Asian Pacific Orthodontic Congress (APOC) 2026 in Singapore

Mark your calendars! Our flagship FLOS Event will bring together students and residents from around the world to learn, network, and collaborate.

The FLOS Event 2026 will be featured during the APOC Residents’ Symposium, a key highlight of the APOC pre-conference programme. The symposium will showcase clinical and research presentations by residents, with attractive prizes awarded to top presenters. This full-day event offers an excellent opportunity for WFO student members and international peers to network, exchange experiences, and discuss early-career challenges.

Residents from around the world are invited to submit Case Reports and Research Studies for Oral Presentation at the APOC Residents’ Symposium, with attractive cash prizes to be won. Visit the APOC Website to find out more, and submit by 31 August 2026.

FLOS–JWFO Young Authors Forum

This year’s FLOS Event will take the form of the FLOS–JWFO Young Authors Forum, designed to support residents in unlocking their first publication.

The forum will include:

  • Talks on publishing fundamentals by:
    • Prof. Vinod Krishnan (Editor-in-Chief, JWFO) 
    • Prof. Eric Liou (Editor-in-Chief, APOS Trends in Orthodontics) 
  • Panel discussion with the addition of Editors-in-Chief from other leading orthodontic journals, including:
    • Prof. Jae Hyun Park (Editor-in-Chief, American Journal of Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopedics) 
    • Prof. Nikhillesh Vaiid (Editor-in-Chief, Seminars in Orthodontics)

The day will conclude with a relaxed Residents’ Reception held at Vineyard at HortPark, offering good food, drinks, and opportunities for networking and forging friendships.

11th ATREO Congress & Emirates Orthodontic Society Joint Congress

Hammamet, Tunisia / June 13 – 14, 2026

The 11th ATREO Congress, held jointly with the Emirates Orthodontic Society Congress in Hammamet, Tunisia, brought together orthodontists, researchers, educators, and clinicians from across the world for two days of outstanding scientific exchange and international collaboration.

The congress featured an exceptional scientific program covering the latest advances in orthodontics, while providing valuable opportunities for networking, strengthening professional relationships, and fostering future collaborations. Beyond the academic sessions, the warm and welcoming atmosphere reflected the strong sense of community that characterizes the orthodontic profession.

The World Federation of Orthodontists (WFO) extends its sincere congratulations to Dr. Amel Benbrahim, President of ATREO, and to the entire organizing committee for delivering an outstanding meeting distinguished by scientific excellence, impeccable organization, and remarkable hospitality. Appreciation is also extended to Dr. Mohammed Al Shalabi, President of the Emirates Orthodontic Society, for his important role in this successful partnership.

Special recognition goes to Adel and Faten Ben Amor, whose generosity, dedication, and exceptional hospitality ensured that every participant felt welcomed throughout the meeting.

Set against the beautiful Mediterranean backdrop of Hammamet, the congress successfully combined high-quality education with meaningful cultural and social experiences, leaving participants with lasting memories, strengthened international friendships, and renewed enthusiasm for advancing orthodontics worldwide.

Mexican Orthodontic Society Meeting

Dr. Rocío Casasola, a member of the Executive Committee of the World Federation of Orthodontists (WFO), participated in the International Congress of the Mexican Association of Orthodontics (AMO), held in Cancún, Mexico, from March 4–7, 2026. Representing the WFO, she played a prominent role in the official ceremonies and was honored with the opportunity to deliver the opening remarks, formally inaugurating the congress.

During her address, she conveyed greetings from the WFO and its President, Dr. Letizia Perillo, to the orthodontic community gathered in Cancún. She emphasized the importance of strengthening international cooperation, continuing education, and scientific exchange among the organizations that make up the specialty. Her presence reaffirmed the strong collaborative relationship between the WFO and the Mexican Association of Orthodontics, contributing to the success of an academic event that brought together orthodontic specialists from numerous countries.

As part of the Congress of the Latin American Association of Orthodontics (ALADO) and the Congress of the Ecuadorian Society of Orthodontics (SEO), held in Quito, Ecuador, from February 26–28, 2026, Dr. Rocío Casasola attended as a representative of the World Federation of Orthodontists (WFO), participating in the official ceremonies of the event.

As the official WFO representative, she addressed attendees during both the opening and closing ceremonies, highlighting the role of regional integration in advancing orthodontics throughout Latin America and underscoring the importance of maintaining opportunities for scientific updating and professional collaboration. She also conveyed the WFO’s institutional greetings and reiterated the organization’s commitment to strengthening academic and professional ties among associations in the region. Her participation reflected the close relationship between the WFO, SEO and ALADO, as well as the international recognition of this important scientific meeting.
