Dr. William H. DeKock Distinguished Service Award

This award, created in 2015, is the highest achievement award of the World Federation of Orthodontists and is intended to recognize a member orthodontist who has made outstanding contributions and exemplary distinguished services rendered over a number of years for the benefit and advancement of the orthodontic profession and the World Federation of Orthodontists. 

 

WFO Regional Award of Merit

The WFO Regional Award of Merit was created in 2015 to recognize WFO members who make significant contributions to orthodontics, whether through academic, research, clinical practice or organized orthodontic pursuits.


T.M. GRABER OUTSTANDING ARTICLE AWARD

The T. M. Graber Outstanding Article Award, established by the WFO Executive Committee on May 3, 2019, is an annual award created to recognize the principle author and co-authors (if any) of the original article judged to be the most outstanding article published in the JWFO in the preceding year.

 

WFO Honorary Membership

Honorary membership in the WFO is the highest honour awarded by the WFO.  Any individual, orthodontist or not, who is deemed to have rendered outstanding service to the specialty of orthodontics worldwide may be nominated for WFO Honorary Fellowship.

Roberto Justus Young Speakers Travel Scholarship

The World Federation of Orthodontists (WFO) ‘Rising Star’ Travel Scholarship was established by the WFO Executive Committee in 2022, and named after former WFO President, Doctor Roberto Justus. The annual award may be presented to WFO Fellows, no older than 38 years of age at the time the application is submitted, who in the judgment of the WFO, have excelled in the field of Orthodontics and should be supported to present their research and/or clinical work internationally.

 

Lee W. Graber Orthodontics Changing Lives Award

"Orthodontics Changing Lives" Competition and Award was established by the World Federation of Orthodontists (WFO) Executive Committee in 2022, and named after former WFO President, Doctor Lee W. Graber. The annual award may be presented to WFO Fellows who, in the judgment of the WFO, provide an orthodontic related story that demonstrates a“changed life” because of treatment for their orthodontic patient.

 
  

Athanasios E. Athanasiou Best Orthodontic Master’s Thesis Award

The Athanasios E. Athanasiou Best Orthodontic Masters Thesis Award was established by the World Federation of Orthodontists (WFO) Executive Committee in 2022, and named after former WFO President, Doctor Athanasios E. Athanasiou. The annual award may be presented to WFO Fellows who, in the judgment of the WFO, have excelled in their completed Master’s thesis from a WFO affiliate-recognized orthodontic specialty training program.

 

Allan R. Thom WOHD Art Competition and Award

The World Federation of Orthodontists (WFO) Executive Committee established the World Orthodontic Health Day (WOHD) Art Competition and Award in 2022, and named it after former WFO President, Doctor Allan R. Thom. The award is to be presented annually to the patients of WFO Fellows and/or patients of WFO student members who, in the judgment of the WFO, have related a story relating to orthodontics in the form of a well-executed still two- dimensional art piece in any medium.
