The deadline to submit a nomination for the WFO 2020 Regional Award of Merit is April 15, 2018 and the nomination form may be downloaded. The award, which was created in 2015, recognizes WFO fellows who make significant contributions to orthodontics, whether through academic, research, clinical practice or leadership and service in organized orthodontics.
A nominee must be, or have been, a Fellow, Academic, or Retired Member of the WFO. Student or Honorary Members are not eligible for nomination.
The WFO requests nominations by this date in order to allow time for consideration prior to the WFO’s 9th International Orthodontic Conference, which will be held October 4-7, 2020 at the Pacifico Yokohama Convention Complex in Yokohama, Japan. Each recipient of the 2020 Regional Award of Merit will be honored during the IOC.
“We are very pleased to have introduced this award as a means of providing organizational recognition of some of the men and women among us who have made outstanding contributions to the specialty of orthodontics,” says Dr. Joseph Bouserhal WFO Executive Committee member for Africa and the Middle East and chair of the Regional Award Committee. “Any WFO fellow in good standing, or any affiliate organization in good standing may submit a nomination, and we hope that many will do so.”
The form linked here must be used to submit nominations. When completed, the form should be returned to the WFO at wfo@wfo.org. The completed form must be accompanied by:
♦ The nominee’s curriculum vitae;
♦ A narrative letter of no more than three typed pages in length, authored by the nominating fellow or organization, describing fully the reasons the nominee should be considered for the award;
♦ Supporting documentation from third parties may be included in the nomination, but such documentation must be no more than two pages per third party submission.
