  World Journal of Orthodontics becomes official journal of WFO
“We chose the World Journal of Orthodontics because of its emphasis on clinical material, its outstanding editorial board and established position as a refereed journal, and the positive manner in which it augments the national journals many of our members now receive,” said Dr. Lee Graber, president of the WFO. “The journal offers the WFO another avenue to provide members the best in clinically relevant orthodontic information and to update members on what is happening in our specialty around the world, and does so at a significantly reduced cost to the membership.” The WJO is published quarterly by Quintessence Publishing Company, Inc. WFO fellows have received a complimentary copy of the journal and will receive another free issue before the end of the year. WFO fellows may subscribe to the WJO at a reduced annual rate of $73.50. WFO fellows must keep their membership current in order to receive the reduced subscription rate and other WFO membership benefits. “This is a great benefit for WFO fellows,” Dr. Graber said. “In most cases, the subscription savings is more than double the yearly cost of membership in our organization, and North American WFO members save 25 percent off the regular subscription rate.” Dr. Graber encourages WFO fellows to seek publication in the WJO. “One of the goals in the decision to affiliate with a journal was to provide added opportunity for WFO fellows to submit articles for publication,” Dr. Graber said. “The journal is focused on clinical material, and, with the majority of our members involved with clinical practice, the opportunity to publish excellent material is a real plus. In front of each issue of the journal are the ‘Guidelines for Authors.’” For the time being, the WJO will also include an application for WFO fellowship. It will also feature WFO-related news briefs on a regular basis.

The World Journal of Orthodontics (WJO) is now the official journal of the WFO. The WFO Executive Committee approved this decision earlier this year after reviewing several proposals. The WJO is in its fifth year of publication. Dr. T.M. Graber is the editor-in-chief, and Dr. Carla Evans is the associate editor.
