AAO to license translation of its patient-education brochures

The American Association of Orthodontists (AAO) has an array of patient-education brochures available to its members. The Association is now offering a licensing agreement to WFO affiliate organizations. Under such an agreement, WFO affiliate organizations may translate these brochures into another language and sell them to their members for distribution to patients.

WFO affiliate organizations that sign a licensing agreement with the AAO would be responsible for the translation of the educational materials. All production costs, including printing, would be borne by the WFO affiliate organization. The AAO would be identified as the author of the materials and would have final approval of the translated brochures. To assist interested organizations who do not wish to do their own translation, the AAO will prepare a list of U.S. print vendors and translation companies. The organizations would have the option of using these vendors.

The license fee per each brochure is $300 (USD) for the first 12 months, as well as 10 percent of sales over $3,000 (USD) within the first 12 months and 10 percent of sales thereafter.
